Many European retail companies have existing supplier relationships in China but often do not have the time or resource to perform their own pre-shipment quality inspections. SUND has its own quality inspection team based in South China.
However, SUND is more than just a straightforward quality inspector: prior to inspections we actively communicate with both the customer and supplier so as to gather information about products and their key functions. We then create customised quality documents which focus on areas critical to the customer.
Each customer is assigned a European business contact as well as an English speaking Chinese quality engineer. We have our own in-house quality team with an extensive range of product experience as well as access to external engineers with niche expertise.
Factory Auditing.
This SUND service helps customers to assess potential new suppliers in South China. We send an in-house English speaking auditor to a supplier’s facility to assess various criteria including, but not limited to:
- Quality systems – handling and implementing of internal quality processes.
- Factory management – cleanliness, safety and organisation.
- Manufacturing Capability – machinery assessment, manufacturing skill, level of engineering.
- Documentation – drawings, production orders and QC-instructions.
- Capacity – average machinery usage, maximum output.
All auditing is customised and the focus of each assessment is agreed in advance with the customer to ensure they get the most out of the process.
The auditor will compile a customised report following each visit and will always provide an objective view of the company visited.

Where customers have existing manufacturing sources in China SUND can help to manage those relationships by assigning an English speaking Chinese account manager as a single point of contact for all communication.
With strong experience of dealing with Chinese suppliers and European customers our account mangers have the skills to co-ordinate everything from order enquiries and product development through to mass-manufacturing, quality inspection and shipment.
We offer a very flexible service allowing you to use SUND for projects both small and large. For example, you may want SUND to help you find and visit suppliers at the start of a project and then be left to communicate directly, or you might want to outsource everything and let SUND act as your own local office in China.
SUND can help to co-ordinate the entire customer shipping process. With our own warehousing facility in China we can consolidate smaller shipments from multiple suppliers allowing our customer base to save on time and cost.
